‘Education should develop children’s personality and talents to the full’ (UNICEF Article 29
Woodhouse Community Primary School is situated in the historic town of Bishop Auckland in County Durham. We cater for pupils aged 2 to 11 years and have approximately 230 children attending our school.
Our aim is to provide children with a nurturing and supportive environment that allows all learners to thrive and to become responsible and independent members of their local community. We strive for all of our pupils to become life-long learners, to be aspirational in their achievements and to be the very best version of themselves that they can be. We promote the virtues of respect, kindness, confidence, resilience, determination , communication and ambition through everything we do in school.
We highly value the role that parents and carers play in their children’s learning and encourage them to participate in school life. We know that by working together in partnership, opportunities and life chances for children are greatly improved. We believe that together in partnership with families, we are helping the children ‘follow the pathway to success’.
